Conway, South Carolina

Manning Design Group provided full interior design services for the 20,000 SF Lab and 25,000 SF Pharmacy projects.

This project included close coordination with the architect, engineers and the owner in the selection of interior materials, lighting and finishes, as well as a furniture assessment and new furniture bid specifications. New features include 3Form resin product, "skylight-type" light fixtures, direct/indirect pendant lighting, and special no-maintenance, non-staining flooring.

The Lab relocation into the lower level of the Bed Tower allowed for a 45% increase in overall square footage while providing an "Open Lab" concept whereby there are very few full-height walls in the department. The new lab is open, filled with light, and by design creates a pleasant work environment.

The Conway Pharmacy was very cramped for space in its old location adjacent to the Emergency Department. By relocating the Lab to the lower level of the Bed Wing, a portion of the former Lab space became available for the relocation/expansion of the Pharmacy. Positioned so as to have direct access to the exterior for incoming deliveries; the new Pharmacy features modular casework for flexibility, expanded order entry and Pharmacy Tech work areas, a USP 797 compliant chemotherapy and IV prep area, a research area and conference room, an outpatient pharmacy access point off the main public hospital corridor, and consolidated office/administrative/support spaces.
